In a sad series of events, serendipity creeps in, as i was conceptualizing this painting, my wife's father suddenly began to decline due to cognitive heart failure. this coincidence ultimately coincided with his ultimate death. which also coincided with a trip we had planned to den haag, netherlands, which housed the famous original painting by rembrant.
